Well, its March. That time of year, when, my taxes are done. I’m caught up from the year before in my editing. I’ve had a break. A nice little break. Now, I’m ready to GET BACK TO WORK. I’ve had some things going here and there, but mother nature just isn’t co-operating quite enough for me to be full fledged busy. So, i recently decided to volunteer my time and services to our local animal shelter, the Coastal Humane Society. I know how important and crutial it is for animals waiting to be adopted to have quality photos. LOTS of people look online to find the animal they might call their own, and just like with people, a photo can make you look amazing, and showcase your true personality, orrrrr…not so much. It was perfect timing. Shortly after I emailed them, they told me they were expecting in 10 or so dogs and puppies from a shelter down south. The dogs had been on death row, due to shelter crowding. I could tell they were just so excited to get these dogs, and equally excited to have me there to document it. I too, could hardly wait. Here are some photos I got that day, of the dogs arrival, their bath…and settling in to their new (short term) life at the shelter. I was just amazed at how sweet and happy they were through the whole process. ugh. love.
If you are interested in adopting one of these adorable pups, or want more info on volunteering you can visit the Coastal Humane Society. Just click on adopt to see all their sweet animals up for adoption.
Jake (and his parents)
won my Facebook cutest pet contest awhile back. Here are a few goodies from their shoot…

Hey! Welcome to my new blog/website! Take a minute to look around, leave me a comment, and be sure to let me know if something isn’t working for you! Its kinda been a work in progress, and I’m no web designer-that I have learned!
So I decided awhile ago that I wanted to do a facebook contest. I thought it would be a fun way to help grow my business, but I wanted to do something a little different than some of the other contsests I’ve seen photo’gs doing latley, so I thought, ‘Hey! I’ve done lots of pet photography, why not do a cutest pet contest?!’ But then I decided….It doesn’t have to be the cuuuutest pet per-se. So you can vote for the one you think is cutest, coolest, awesomest- whatever floats your boat.
Ok so here are the rules.
I am accepting photos of your pet (it can be just your pet, or YOU and your pet, you kid and your pet…whatever) from now until 12:00 am Saturday the 16th, via my e-mail: noelsmallphotography@hotmail.com. Include your pets name, and if you’d like me to put a short caption, you can include that too. Sunday the 17th I will post the pictures to an album on my noel small photography Facebook page It will be titled something like ‘Super-de-duper-est pet contest’.
Then the voting will begin. (I will post on my page when its officially voting time.) Then you can start spreading hte word to your friends! Tell them to ‘like’ my page, and then, like your photo to vote for it. Which ever photo has the most ‘likes’ (votes) by Friday the 22nd at 8:00 pm will be the winner!!
The winner will get a free 1-2 hour photo session to be used in the month of May with their pet. And also one gift print, of your choice. You will also have online proofing of the images (20-30 or so) for 2 weeks.
Your photos can be of JUST your pet, youuu and your pet, your whole faaaamily and your pet….my only qualification is that your pet will be in at least a few of the photo’s- thats it. Your session is not good toward weddings or other event photography. Your session must take place within 25 miles of Topsham ME. If you’d like me to travel further- there will be a charge of .40 cents per mile after 25 miles.
* NOTE * IF I DO NOT RECEIVE AT LEAST 4 ENTRIES, I WILL NOT BE DOING THE CONTEST! So be sure to spread the word, and tell your friends to enter! It should be a lot of fun! Good luck
